This historic pub dates back to the 1930s, when Wolfram was mined nearby.

Today Wauchope Hotel offers great food, icy cold beer, refreshments, comfortable cabins and a caravan park for travellers who want to experience the hospitality for which the outback is famous. Wauchope Hotel is also the closest accommodation to the Devils Marbles.

Have a chin wag with the locals, you’ll meet more than your fair share of characters, and leave with some colourful tales

Devils Marbles

The unusual, yet beautiful sight of gigantic granite boulders silhouetted against a blood red sky allures travellers from around the world to the Territory’s ochre centre.

The Devils Marbles, just 8kms north of Wauchope Hotel or 100kms south of the town of Tennant Creek, have been eroded over millions of years.

Access to the site is fantastic, with numerous walking tracks marked with information panels to guide you.

There’s a still and calming silence that you’ll feel as the sun goes down and the evening’s colours evolve.
